    • project ruori prepared and presented fraudulent claims, a fine fricassee of ambient noises and new music, stewed with conversational dialogue and spoken word. oh, and a dash of conflict and self-help commentary for good measure. served with sides of interactive video and closed-captioned lyrics.

    • Kosada provided cinemagraphic and post-production services for the production. Kosada also provided pre-production services including 16mm filming, performance lighting design, video editing, etc. For live perfomance, Kosada provided sound reinforcement, audio recording, and video projection.

Tarvis Senior Guitar Recital

  • Description of Project
    • Guitarist Travis "Tarvis" Moles gave his senior recital at the Bandersnatch coffeehouse in Granville, OH. Along with several fellow student musicians, he played a set consisting of a mix of original works and renditions of classic folk songs. The set lasted a little over an hour.

  • What Kosada did:
    • Kosada was involved in various aspects of production: first, Kosada provided live sound production, optimizing the quality of the sound within the venue itself; second, Kosada recorded the recital using a AG-DVX100b for video. To record the sound, a multi-track recording was made of the digital output of the live microphones and later mixed in our studio using Cakewalk SONAR . After completing post-production on both the audio and video components of the recording, we synced them together using Final Cut Pro .

  • Description of Project
    • project ruori's performance at electro-music 2005 was a non-binding interaction of musical vignettes and projected art, established to address issues of life, death, and the insurance thereof. this limited-time offer included six (6) performers, four (4) authors, three (3) visual artists, and two (2) pre-recorded voices. the script was subject to change into a cabaret show at any time, without refund or reimbursement to the injured parties. some restrictions applied. it remains void where prohibited by law.

Brian Shotzbarger Short Films

  • Description of Project
    • Brian Shotzbarger, an aspiring independent filmmaker, shot this reel of material for various short films. An admirer of French New-Wave cinema, he came to Kosada for help putting the right finishing touches on this set of projects.

  • What Kosada did:
    • Our co-founder Steve provided Brian instruction in the use of video production tools such as Final Cut Pro . He also provided feedback on aesthetic matters such as color correction, clip splicing, and transition sequences. Finally, he contributed to the arrangement, performance, post-production, and syncing of the film score.

Bob Hall Senior Trombone Recital

  • Description of Project
    • Bob Hall gave his senior Trombone recital with piano accompaniment. He performed works of New Music (contemporary classical) by various modern composers. The performance was about an hour and a half long.

  • What Kosada did:
    • Kosada provided videography and post-production services. Using equipment provided for the event by Denison University, Kosada placed microphones, recorded audio and video, and mixed and assembled them in the studio using Cakewalk SONAR and Final Cut Pro .

tuesday afternoon at china wong buffet

  • Description of Project
    • tuesday afternoon at china wong buffet is an elaboration on a well-known fairy tale, retold using conventions established by 20th century performance artists and composers. the performances, which took place in spring 2004, involved collaboration between more than fifty students, faculty, and staff of denison university and the surrounding community. the DVD edition combines pre-production video, video shot at all three performances, and extensive post-production compositing and computer graphics work.
