Drupal Association memberKosada was happy to contribute back to the greater Ohio Drupal community by helping to organize the second annual DrupalCamp Ohio on November 30 – December 1, 2012. DrupalCamp Ohio is a regional mini-conference organized and run by the local Drupal users group, which Kosada's web developers participate in. Matthew Radcliffe, Steve Mokris, and Jaymie Strecker along with other members of the community began organizing this year's event all the way back in April.

This year introduced new challenges not encountered in the first year:

Matthew spearheaded the Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 upgrade of the drupalcampohio.org website in May. He focused on making the necessary changes to Views and Commerce integration, and continued to manage the site and contribute patches and rules for the new Registration suite of modules to drupal.org. Steve recorded, edited, and encoded hours of session content in the auditorium, while Jaymie and Matthew handled logistics during the camp. Matthew also presented on Views 3 and jQuery UI vs. ctools Modal.

Drupal events are a great way to meet and collaborate on current and future Drupal projects. This collaborative nature is what makes Drupal a good community to work with — and a good role model for up-and-coming communities like the one we're starting for Vuo.

Steve met with the Phase2 team present at the Camp to learn more about how we can help make Open Atrium 2.0 happen. Matthew organized the Drupal in Education Birds of a Feather ad-hoc session to learn and share about what's new with Drupal in the education space. Jaymie met attendees at all levels of Drupal experience, and will be encouraging many of them to give talks next year.

It was a great event, and we hope to contribute and make it an even better event next year.
